maxxis sta rivelando un po' di cose sullo svilupo di questi pneumatici... sembra che abbiano sviluppato nuove mescole per essere tubeless ready e useranno gli stessi cerchietti anche sulle HD:
"A prototype 29x2.5 DHF was shown at Interbike 16 months ago, and it really shouldn't have been. It took quite a while for this tire to be developed due to the new compounds needed for a tubeless ready application, and the beads of the DH version are folding, UST-spec, and that was a hurdle as well."
E sulle mescole, la dual sarà 62/60 e la maxxterra 50/42:
"No, it's around 62a center, 60a shoulder. Very similar to the single compound Maxxpro 60a tires. The Maxx Terra version is noticeably softer, at 50a center and 42a shoulder."

Altro dettaglio che non sapevo, ma che mi ero spessso chiesto: l'Ardent è stato sviluppato prima 26X2.25, e visto che qualche tester si lamentava per i tasselli di transizione che flettevano, nei 2.4, 2.6 e 29X2.25 sono stati abbassati e i tasselli centrali alzati. Visto che il tipo è un estimatore delle 29 e non approvava il cambiamento, per le 29X2.25 ha fatto rifare gli stampi con i tasselli "elevati".
