Install gpsbabel-1.3.4-beta20070711 from http://www.gpsbabel.org
For to have USB function correctly, please refer to http://www.gpsbabel.org/os/Linux_Hotplug.html for help.
In my case, I did the following steps:
- I installed gpsbabel-1.3.4-beta20070711 from
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gpsbabel/gpsbabel-1.3.4-beta20070711.i386.rpm?use_mirror=belnet
- I modified /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist adding: blacklist garmin_gps at the end of the file.
- I create a file /etc/udev/rules.d/51-garmin.rules with content:
SYSFS{idVendor}=="091e", SYSFS{idProduct}=="0003", GROUP="plugdev", MODE="660"
- Then I did sudo rmmod garmin_gps and reconnected my EDGE.
At this point the communication was perfect.
I tested it in Ubuntu Feisty 7.04.
Bye
