MOUNT GREENHOUSE
The six steps of pisani mounts
From
Caprona the indications for Soccer are followed and after approximately 1 km, to crosss-roads, it is gone on the left in
Asciano direction. After Excise tax it is reached the crossroad where it is turned to right for
Agnano (km 4,5). It arrives you to the small village of
Agnano takes to right the cemented one (via
Tobler) that she begins to go back the southern depositor of the
Pisani Mounts, ammantato from great forests of lecci. After approximately a kilometer omitting a shunting line to straight, and always continuing to right on the main one, than little after it becomes sterrata. The carrareccia, after to have avoided others two shunting lines on the right, us door under the slopes of the
Faeta Mount and arrives to the
Saddleback of Cross Field (km11,5; 612 mt. slm), on the crinale of the Pisani Mounts. To the step one takes initially marked the 00, but after 20 meters we must enter the road to natural bottom on the right (segnavia bianco/rossi path n.
02) that it goes to cut the full of rocks depositors of the
Spuntone di S.Allago that, after a short feature in climb, it begins to come down towards quota 550 mt. in order then to resume to go up until the
Hill of Soccer (km15,8; 722 mt. slm). We cross the road and we come down towards S.Andrea di Compito , but after 50 mt., to a left hairpin curve, we feed marked the 00 that leads to the
Hill of Prato di Calci (km 17,5; 801 mt. slm). From the hill, where we can make one ristoratrice pause, we omit asphalt and one sterrata on the left in order continuing rights on the asphalted track that it knows them towards the summit of the
Mount Greenhouse (indications repeaters
RAI). Following it marks them white man-red of marked the 00, catch up the highest slopes of mount (km 19; 896 mt. slm), until when it marks them white man-red leave asphalt, and they begin to come down left back in correspondence of a slab. As soon as it enters to you in the forest to crosss-roads, to continue straight in light reduction, in order little lend still more attention after, to a crossroad when the main road carries out one curve to right. The alternate road hour drawn discoveries at times in the forest, and meets on the asphalted road that we must take on the left in reduction. It is arrived therefore after 900 mt. to the Step Prato Ceragiola (km 21,5; 635 mt. slm), where s' it meets the asphalted road Soccer - Buti.
# * * Attention * *Because of recent prohibition of access to the zone sopradescritta (military zone), we would have to make one of these two varying in order to cover the feature from the Hill of Prato di Calci to the Step of Prato Ceragiola :
1) to continue in reduction for main asphalt and 2,2 km we catch up the Step .
2) Imboccare to dx the wide one sterrata in reduction in direction Wheel . After less than a km to abandon it near one wide curve to sx and straight continuing on one sterrata more grip (marked 29 ). The light fine reduction in Pianbello locality is still continued , where we still hold dx. Proseguiamo still in light reduction, omitting an obvious crossroad that comes down to sx for Buti , in order to arrive little after to the Farm holidays Greenhouse of Under (marked 26 ). After some hundred of meters from this we find again ourselves on a hairpin curve of the asphalted road Buti - Castelmaggiore that, taken dx, door in approximately a km to the Step of Prato Ceragiola , where us ricogiungiamo to the described route (varying leggermente longer of the main distance).
# Neglecting it, the wide one is feed from the opposite side sterrata towards the
Sacrario of the Mount Greenhouse and, exceeded the shunting line to right that leads to the Sacrario, it is continued on the main way that is maintained next to the crinale. Always continuing on the main way this little after it gets worse its conditions coming down until the Step
Prato to Giovo , a grassy one spiazzo with a small artificial small lake. To the crossroad it is continued in plan to right on the main track until
Prato to the Water and, after to have cut the depositors of the Pebble of the Painful one it is arrived to the Step of Prato Arreto (km 24,5; 650 mt. slm), recognizable for a high cross in wood. From the hill, it begins the reduction that is carried out on a track in cemented part ( the
Lombardona ) with enormous crosspieces for drains it of the water, between high shrubs of ginestra, with steep features truly much. It is reached therefore to intercross the sterrata one for
Montemagno. It is taken to right, but after 300 meters, to one wide spiazzo one lets in order to go up rights on steep mulattiera. The 1200's meters of climb they are sufficient in order to begin the pianeggiante encircling of the Verruca Mount (km 29; 480 mt. slm) that it finishes near a wide one spiazzo. Here it is gone to right, feeding dilapidated sterrata that it comes down towards
Caprona, making much attention to the insidioso street bottom. When the slope diminishes, and the bottom improves, the terrazzamenti to olive tree are caught up that encircle the hill on which the
Tower of Caprona rises.
Exceeded a slab hour is
met on the road for Crespignano that, taken on the left, filler to
Caprona (km 32,5; 12 mt. slm).
