Il comunicato stampa in inglese:

One month prior to the fourth adidas Slopestyle that will take place between 31 July and 3 August 2008 in Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria’s ONE BIG PARK SalzburgerLand, the 600 metre long Slopestyle course is already built. A ten person freeride crew led by adiridas Joscha Forstreuter, Niels Peter Jensen and Niki Leitner has worked a total of 1680 man-hours to complete the spectacular single line course which they believe is the best adidas Slopestyle course ever.

The 2008 adidas Slopestyle course starts with a nice Roll-In that leads into a Wooden Gap Jump (Roller Coaster). After this stylish gap, riders drop down two metres into a berm. From a Tree Step Down they enter the technical part that starts with a real tough right-left-berm-section called Corkscrew. Further down in that section two gaps, ‘Nacho’ and ‘Macho’ are waiting for the Slopestyle and Ticket2Style participants. Macho has a step down distance of about ten metres and Nacho, the little brother, of about five metres. Turning left after the brother gap jumps, riders enter the style part where they go through a berm that ends in the right-hand 90-degree Alm Hip. After the hip they face the ONE BIG PARK obstacle combo, a satellite dish that takes them on top of an alm hut. There they have two choices that ‘separate the boys from the men’: they either ride on to a drop tower for an eight metre free fall or they choose a four metre drop down into a berm followed by a left-hand turn that brings them back into the big drop landing. Straight after that the Twister, a step up step down box with a twisted platform waits for the guys offering plenty of choices to continue their run. They can jump on top and drop down straight, jump a huge left-hand hip crossing the edge of the Twister or jump on top and drop down to the left. If they choose the straight line the Flying Wallride is next on route. It brings them down to the Joscha Tree, a massive curved wallride that is fastened to the trees in a height of four metres. Joscha Tree takes them directly down to the Dirt Wiesn. However, some riders may prefer to tap on the Flying Wallride and skip the Joscha Tree to go over a four metre road gap instead that also leads to the Dirt Wiesn. Whatever their choice will be, the sweet ending of this exciting mix of speed, style and big mountain riding is the Dirt Wiesn. A nice hip takes the freeriders in and the first gap with a seven metre distance followed by a big step up with soft landing will give them the opportunity to complete their run with their favourite and sickest moves.

“This Slopestyle course is the biggest and most diversified, flowy, natural course I’ve ever seen”, raves Joscha Forstreuter. “And I don’t just say that because I was part of the crew who built it – I really mean it. Riders who don’t participate in the adidas Slopestyle this year will miss out on a lot of fun.” Pictures of the building process and the course can be seen on the event homepage www.adidas-slopestyle.com.

Freecaster.tv will stream event live on 2 August 2008

Those who cannot make it to Saalbach Hinterglemm this year to watch the best freeriders in the world fly over the spectacular adidas Slopestyle course don’t have to despair. Together with Freecaster.tv, the world’s most popular mountain bike video channel on the web, the organisers will present the adidas Slopestyle and the adidas Rock Jam with concert of Orange But Green live on Saturday, 2 August 2008.

Mountain biking legends Hans 'NoWay' Rey and Richie Schley will be the hosts of the online show. In their adidas Slopestyle Freecaster studio they will welcome the top riders and stars of the freeride community for live interviews. In addition, they will present lots of background and behind-the-scenes stories before and after the final that takes place at 15h30.

“In Saalbach Hinterglemm we will be streaming live for nearly ten hours”, says Ray Dulieu, fournder of Freecaster.tv. “Our web audience will have the feeling that they have been right in the middle of things. Freecaster.tv will take them as close as they can get without being there.”

Riders, journalists, and spectators – they are all raring to go, because in five days the adidas Slopestyle 2008 will kick off. This year, too, the tranquil town of Saalbach Hinterglemm will turn into a freeride mekka for four days as the who’s who of the international freeride community gets together: superstars like Canadian Ben Boyko, who won the 2007 Crankworx Slopestyle in Whistler, or Lance McDermott (GBR), overall winner of the Qashqai Challenge 2008, „Chopper“ Grant Fielder (GBR), big mountain rider Pierre-Edouard Ferry (FRA), as well as the style kings Timo Pritzel (GER), Alex Reveles (USA), Phil Sundbaum (USA), Benny Korthaus (GER) and Trond Hansen (NOR). The latter placed second and third at this year’s Qashqai Challenge. Also Europe’s shooting stars Martin Soederstroem (SWE) and Sam Pilgrim (GBR) who cleaned up at nearly every international contest will be at the start. Sam Pilgrim just won the Roof’n Slopestyle in Avoriaz two weeks ago. Last but not least, the German and Austrian freeride stars will participate in the adidas Slopestyle, including Joscha Forstreuter (GER), Marius Hoppensack (GER), Carlo Dieckmann (GER), Niels Peter Jensen (GER), Amir Kabbani (GER) and Niki Leitner (AUT).

Fourty invited freeride pros from 13 countries will compete on Saturday, 2 August 2008 for the sought after title and total prize purse of 30,000 US dollars. They will be joined by the winners of the Sponsoree Ticket2Style rookie qualifier, that will already take place on Thursday.

Mountain biking legends Hans Rey (SUI) and Richie Schley (CAN) will be in front of the camera without bike this time – they host the Freecaster Webcast Show which will broadcast live from the adidas Slopestyle and the adidas Rock Jam.

International Panel of Judges

This year’s jury of the adidas Slopestyle is as top class as the field of riders. Head Judge Aaron Lutze (USA), a professional trials rider himself and creator of „Match Videozine“ and the „Summer of Shred World Tour“, has contributed to and launched the careers of many stars in the freeride world. "I am really looking forward to being the head judge for the adidas Slopestyle,“ Aaron says. „It was a huge honour to be asked to head up the results for what will undoubtedly be one of the most important events of the year. The adidas Slopestyle has always been such a huge part of the mountain bike contest scene, and it seems that every time the event comes around, a new star is launched into the freeride world – like Andreu and Lluis Lacondeguy from the previous event. After looking at the course drawings, it looks like the riders should be able to really throw down on this course. It's going to be great for the crowd to be watch, and extremely difficult for me and my panel of judges!"

Chris Van Dine (USA) who is a member of The Cut team will support his fellow countryman as a judge. Van Dine has gained plenty of experience judging at international freeride events. Third member of the panel of judges is Vincent Saccomani (FRA). The filmmaker and creator of the French community website insidemtb.com has already judged at the past two adidas Slopestyle Contests. Tony Brey (GER), filmmaker and chief editor of the German ski & mountain bike magazine Bergstolz, who is better known as „Mr. Northshore Bavaria“ completes the panel of judges. For Tony it will be the first assignment as judge, but his well trusted by the riders.

Hot Babes 2008
The adidas Slopestyle is unimaginable without its Hot Babes – beautiful girls who pamper the riders that are allowed to sit down on the Hot Seat. They are the cherry on the top on each rider photo and the life of each party. For the first time in the history of the event, the pro riders will select the three hot babes themselves on Friday evening. Fifteen candidates who were casted by the regional newspaper Bezirkszeitung are nominated for election. The winners will be presented to the public the next day – on the Hot Seat.
