Due to new sponsors of the Vienna Air King the participants are able to enjoy pure luxury in the riders lounge: The mobile services and internet provider “3” sets up some surf stations, two big sized Panasonic Plasma-TVs which show the newest tricks being pulled outside on the dirt track and, last but not least, free massages from the Manus Massage Institute will help the riders to regenerate and relax.
Getting shepherd in the riders lounge that well, the competitors of the Vienna Air King have to show some hard rocking tricks and combinations on the course to secure themselves a part of the cash and goods prizes. In addition to the 5.000 Euros overall prize money, Panasonic sponsors digital camcorders for the Top 3, as well as an extra digital camera for the one who wins the title of the “Vienna Air King 2008”. Showing some really stunning tricks will pay out in general because the Panasonic-Best-Trick-Competition promises the winner a high end and ultra compact HDC Camcorder, too.
Like the years before, Andi Brewi is the head of course design. He promises a track “that is shaped with a lot of passion and with bigger jumps than last years` Vienna Air King comps. There will be a huge sized roll-in with a drop-in on one side, three doubles with wooden jump ramps and maybe a very special last jump, but we keep it secret until the event starts. Be sure the course will rock!”
On Saturday, April 19th, the official Vienna Air King riders’ party will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the one and only Austrian mountain bike magazine: the Mountainbike Revue. The doors of the WUK (Währingerstr. 59, 1090 Vienna) will open at 8:30 pm to provide a diversified whole evening program including: a mountain bike trail show by Thomas Öhler and Peter Kraus, the European premiere of Kranked 7 “The Cackle Factor” being presented on the same weekend as the world premiere at the Sea Otter Festival, and a lot of sizzling beats by DJ Phekt and DJ Albert from FM4.
The Vienna Air king is the perfect kick-off for the season 2008. On April 19th and 20th the Argus Bike Festival will attract ten thousands of visitors, enjoying all the bike exhibition and a great variety during the two days program.
