[comunicato stampa] - Siemens Cannondale Mountain Bike Racing Team gears up for the 2005 seasonAs the 2005 MTB season draws closer, the Siemens Cannondale team is finalising the pre-season preparations.The rider line-up for 2005 is a showcase of the best talent in each field: Cedric Gracia for downhill and four cross, Christoph Sauser and Fredrik Kessiakoff for cross country and Tinker Juarez for solo endurance.
2004 was a successful year for the team, having achieved a number one UCI ranking in cross country and four-cross. Christoph took victory in the XC World Cup and Fredrik achieved a personal best finish of fourth in the final in Livigno. Cedric finished second overall in the 4X World Cup and fourth in the DH classification. Whilst Tinker won the TransAlp Challenge Masters and the 24 hours of Adrenaline in Monterey and 24 hours of Temecula. In preparation for the season the team will get together for a training camp in Tuscany from 6-13 March.
The camp is always popular with the riders as they have a chance to train and hang out together before they undertake their varying schedules and commitments throughout the season.The riders have kept busy in the off-season. Cedric has been on a mini-tour of South America, taking second place in the Siemens Megavalanche in Cusco Peru and competing in the DH Urbano in Downtown Santos Brazil. Fredrik started his season with a strong victory in the Sunshine Cup in Cyprus and Tinker clocked up his first win in the 12 hours of Razorback in Florida.
Christoph trained in South Africa over the winter and will return to Europe for the first race of the Liquigas cup in Brescia, Italy.Alex Wurz, Co-Team Boss:Continuity is a hugely important factor in the success of a team and we are delighted to continue with such a strong rider line-up and moreover with two such great partners as Siemens and Cannondale.
