A new snowboard and ski brand entering the white planet
for the upcoming season 2005/2006: AMPLID.
Amplid is about humans. About friends having a common idea, regardless of the tool they are riding. Amplid is fraternity. Amplid is against apartheid in parks and powder.
And Amplid is about riding. About the perfect equipment, for the constant search for the perfect kicker, rail or powderface.
Multiple snowboard worldchampion, test bashing board designer and freeride legend Peter Bauer together with his soulmate and bavarian freeskier Anian Thrainer - have been working on the world's first indie snowboard- AND skiproject which might change people's apartheid like
thinking: Anian and me states founder Peter Bauer, have been sharing many big Wednesdays, sharing the passion for first tracks, regardsless of the tool we are riding on. Snowboarding has learned lots from skiing from the steel edges to sintered bases, and the other way round: from
sidecut to our snowboardish way of thinking. People nowadays ride with one common idea in their minds: How to hit the next kicker or where to find the untracked ! I am very excited to see Amplid growing !
While Peter is responsible for all the snowboard designs, Anian is currently developing new ski shapes with his 3-D expertise and testing them: With Peter's 20-year design experience, the network of suppliers and our team we will revolutionize the ski world out there adds Anian Thrainer.
Speaking out team: Together with americano-bavarian young star Teddy Berr Amplid will introduce the Royal Teddy Pro Model, a 106mm fat backcountry twintip.
With exclusive Amplid-owned molds, new carbon-glass triax weavings, special homegrown woodcore technology and revolutionary shapes the Amplid Research Cartel is very confident to satisfy all kinds of expert riders in the coming season. We don't really want to call our team
team. There are pro riders, artists, engineers, enthusiastic suppliers you joined what we call the Amplid Research Cartel. We experienced also a lot of loyality from friends working for competitors
which accelerated our start up process! explains Peter.
Some of the complete line of 14 boards and 8 skimodels, bindings and basic aparell will be available as a pre season edition by mid October. Highlights are the INFRABLACK, probably the lightest (1720 gr !!!) fat ski on the market. The PARADIGMA, a directional twin tip park & ride
board with a new carbon construction or the EQUITY, the AK-style big mountain weapon with an eliptic nose scoop.
