Vancouver, B.C. March 13, 2006 - The first screenings of ROAM, a new mountain bike film from The Collective, have just been announced. The World Premiere of the film will take place in Monterey, California during the Sea Otter Classic on Friday April 7th. ROAM will then screen on Sunday April 16th in Whistler, B.C. as part of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, at the Whistler Conference Center. A film tour will follow these initial screenings, with dates and locations to be announced soon.
“We’re so stoked to unveil ROAM at these two festivals,” says Jamie Houssian of The Collective. “They are both great events that are always well attended, so we’re looking forward to these premieres going off”. ROAM is the highly anticipated second mountain bike film from The Collective, who released their first film, self-titled The Collective, almost two years ago.
“We’re putting the final touches on the film right now and can’t wait to get it on the big screen soon,” says Houssian. “The riders that we worked with and the locations we shot in were unreal”. The new ROAM website, at
www.thecollectivefilm.com , includes a trailer, photos, and a list of the riders in the film. The website will also be the place to get details about the Monterey and Whistler premieres, as well as the rest of the tour.
ROAM is sponsored by
Specialized, Adidas Eyewear, Helly Hansen, Manitou, Saint, Bike Magazine, Bontrager,
Dakine, New Belgium Brewing, and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The film will be released on DVD in early May. It will be distributed worldwide by Specialized, and several other distributors. To learn more about ROAM check out
