Titec Acquires Patent for all Telescopic Seatposts!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Titec Acquires Patent for all Telescopic Seatposts!

Milpitas CA 5/28/03 - Titec Cycle USA, Inc., a leading OEM and Aftermarket supplier of bicycle components is pleased to announce the acquisition of the Patent that covers all Telescopic seatposts!

Titec is now the exclusive holder of the US Patent #6,182,939 and is in production with two different Telescopic models, both of which will be offered in four sizes: 28.6mm, 30.0mm, 30.9mm & 31.6mm. The 'Scoper posts, as they will be called, will come a length of 410mm when expanded and 275mm when compressed together. Both models will have the Titec exclusive 'Knock-Rated' Warranty and both models will be offered in all Black. The model names are Knock 'Scoper, based off of Titec's durable Knock Post which features the bomb-proof Hawk Clamp and the Pyro 'Scoper, which will feature a new 4-bolt, infinitely adjustable clamp!

Titec was very pleased to have worked out an agreement with Ralph Schoepper, the original inventor of the telescopic post. "Both parties were very happy to have reached a win-win agreement as we both realized how important the Telescopic seatpost will be for the mountain bike market." states Nick Riddle, Titec's Engineering Manager.

"The Telescopic seatpost will benefit so many different bike designs that have a interrupted seat tube by allowing a huge range of seatpost adjustment compared to the limited range of adjustment now. And the Telescopic post is for all segments of the market - from XC to DH to Freeriding." adds Rick Palmer.

If you own an Intense, Haro, Norco, Cannondale, Specialized, Diamond Back, Titus, Rocky Mountain, Kona, Banshee, Brodie, KHS, GT, Mongoose, Giant, K2, Chumba Wumba, Mountain Cycle, Foes, Orange, Yeti, Tomac or Turner, to name a few, the new Titec 'Scoper post is for you!

Titec products are installed as original equipment on bikes from Bianchi, Brodie, Cycles Devinci, Giant, Kona, Rocky Mountain, Santa Cruz and many others. The product line is distributed for aftermarket in the U.S. through Quality Bicycle Products, Giant, KHS, The Hawley Company and BTI. Titec is distributed internationally through Cycle Lambert, Steve Cramer Products, ISLA, Wind Wave, CycleTech, Koba Bicycles, MT-Bike, Vartex, ASAP, and Interfusion.
