The resort of Châtel is preparing the 4. Châtel Mountain Style Contest, international downhill mountain biking event in freeride and slopestyle disciplines for professionals and amateurs, which will take place from 2. to 4. July 2010. The event becomes more important because it is a part of the 2010 Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour!
The aim of the FMB Word Tour is the creation of a really professional organisation and put the events level (freeride big mountain, slopestyle and dirt) upper in giving them a stronger sure side and being more constant in quality. A world ranking will be done at the end of the 10 sessions kept all around the world for this circuit and the FMB World Tour champion title will be given to the best rider at the end of the season.
New for 2010: The Châtel Mountain Style Contest will be also the unique French session in the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour!
Now, the Bike Patrols which is the technical staff is on site to prepare the Mountain Bike Park after the disappearing of the snow. Everything will be ready to allow the professional and amateur riders to take part in optimum conditions on The Face whose features are as follows : 160 meters of difference, 300 meters long, 100 meters wide, and equipped with natural and artificial units in a steep slope.
Every year, not less than 30 professional riders give appointment to race during the Châtel Mountain Style Contest, unique freeride / slopestyle contest in the world! They come from New Zealand, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Germany or even from the USA and France… All of them, professionals and amateurs have a common passion: the downhill mountain biking in freeride and slopestyle!
They will be judged by a 4-person jury lead by Ben Walker from Scott Team on the technique, the fluidity, the involvement and the tricks because the recipe to take part to this event is not only making Back Flips and 3.6 but also making a good choice in the line with fluidity, involvement and control…
